The added depth of our reclaimed wood backs is the most common way to dress up your home or office and is what we feature in our Fargo, ND showroom. While the wood back really changes the look of the sign, you can take it one step further by changing the wood species, staining the sign back, or just lightly sanding the natural wood, you can add great color contrasts with the painted or powder coated steel panel and wooden sign backs.
Another sign style is laser etching or burning the design into the wood instead of laser cutting the metal. This offers a completely different style to the more industrial look of the laser cut steel panel. However, there are far more limitations to the laser etching such as sign size and color control of the burnt area. Because of these variations and restrictions laser etching isn’t a style that we typically offer at Grain Designs. Combining these two styles of laser etching along with the mounted steel panel creates a beautiful contrast between the two materials and adds depth to the sign.
