In 2018, the team at Grain Designs purchased a 17 acre property just outside Fargo, North Dakota as the permanent home for their wood production operation. To cashflow the property and capitalize on the underutilized area, the GD team started their second company, The Pines Weddings & Events. The 9,800 square foot barn style wedding venue, the Pines, opened in 2018.
In 2022, the venue was renamed Pines White to contrast the second venue; Pines Black. Pines White venue blends agricultural heritage with modern elegance to create a timeless space for weddings and events serving North Dakota, Minnesota and beyond.
The all white interior and exterior offers a clean slate for events while rustic touches compliment the white canvas. Building features include six rustic wood sliding barn doors and rustic white washed wood to cover the ceiling and exposed beams.
Grain Designs custom made event furniture includes: 45 rustic wood folding farmhouse event tables, rustic sliding barn doors, a custom bar, countertops, and wood accent features throughout the venue.
Pines White also boasts an outdoor wedding ceremony area which includes: 30 permanent outdoor metal benches, a large double sliding door feature for ceremony entrances, and even custom wedding arches all by Grain Designs.
In the early late 1800s and early 1900s the property was home to the Kennedy Bonanza Farm. The bar inside Pines White was named “The Kennedy Bar” paying homage to the property’s history.
From the conceptual design phase, Grain Designs worked in collaboration with Rhet Architecture on the building design. Epic Built (formerly Epic Homes) of Fargo, ND executed the build from start to finish with touches by Grain Designs along the way.
