A Photo Year in Review

By Grant Koenig

As the days seem to be moving faster and faster I wanted to take a minute to look back on what the year has had in store for myself and the G.D. team. I typically over document most things and I say that with confidence as rub my forehead recalling sifting through over 4,000 photos my phone to find my favorites of the year. For this post I am going to keep the text light and let the photos tell the story so scroll on and I hope you enjoy!

July 8, 2016 – The monster KJOS conference table. 17′ x 6′ Sweat. Blood. Pulled Back Muscles.

July 23, 2016 – Certainly Pat’s favorite holiday of the year with it creeping up the list for the rest of the team as well. Wiffle Ball World Series hosted in the backyard of a close friend to the team in Valley City, ND. Only a week away!

August 11, 2016 – Rustic, character filled doors for a beautiful lake home in Minnesota.

August 12, 2016 – One of my close friends Ian who spent the previous 9 months serving in Kuwait came home and took us for a ride above lakes country.

September 29, 2016 – Desks, paneling and statement pieces for the Rivergroup in Osceola, WI.

October 1, 2016 – My first of about 100 pictures of the new family Golden Doodle. Chai.

October 10, 2016 – Something I love about the simple clean pieces like this custom side table.

October 18, 2016 – The team took our annual pheasant hunting trip out West. Ok, I’ll say it, Phil is the best shot…but when you have a full pheasant tattoo you probably should be!

November 3, 2016 – A day before the Holiday Homes Tour we got this huge entertainment center installed. One of my favorites so far.

December 9, 2016 – G.D. takes on an all inclusive resort in Mexico. May have been over served, over fed and over sunned but I think we all enjoyed every minute of it.

December 15, 2016 – Custom grey wash table with inlaid steel center just in time for the holidays.

January 2, 2017 – My mother Cindy finally got the coffee table I had been promising for roughly 6 months. (She would probably argue longer)

January 21, 2017 – A weekend getaway with friends to Red Lake, MN led to pure happiness as I kicked off ice fishing with the first walleye.

February 13, 2017 – I finally got a picture of the custom vanity we built for Maria at Eco Chic. Love this bathroom.

March 3, 2017 – I would say this is my favorite sliding door to date. Clean solid panel door with inlaid brushed steel and steel channel edging.

March 28, 2017 – A wild idea the weekend prior led to leaving work on Thursday evening, driving through the night and arriving in Colorado just in time to catch the first chair lift on Friday morning. I did make it back to work on Monday morning although productivity may have been subpar.

April 8, 2017 – We took on a custom farmhouse table with a distressed painted base and 2.5″ thick top. Chunky, heavy and rustic chic.

April 22, 2017 – Eco Chic’s Design Conference 2017. We had a blast presenting again and getting to spend time with Chip Wade.

May 6, 2017 – The CRANK TABLE. I say that with emphasis because this may have been our most technical project to date. Its one that basically gets designed as it gets built but we couldn’t be happier with the way these turned out.

June 28, 2017 – Maybe the most unique dog kennel in Fargo! This sliding door dog kennel was built for Muddy Paws which is now open on Veterans Blvd.

July 2, 2017 – Celebrating the wonderful year and the 4th of July with Friends on Pelican Lake in MN.

I hope you enjoyed taking a stroll down memory lane with me and I will be excited to see how this coming July through July 2018 looks! Happy summer, and we hope to see you at the street fair!
