We are now offering a new way to shop custom furniture for both in-stock and custom Grain Designs products. If you’ve worked with us before you’re aware that there is basic three ways to shop our products: visit us at an event, tell us about your custom order, or give us a call to set up an appointment at our showroom. Now we’re beefing up our online store and add yet another way to shop Grain Designs. Although we’ve had an online SHOP presence for a few years, we’re working to improve the shopping experience, offer more products, and also make our custom products more accessible.
In case you’re not already familiar where or how to buy our products I’ll break down each of the ways to shop Grain Designs and I’ll also share photos of some of our current pieces that we’ve just added to the online shop.
When Grain Designs started 4 years ago we began building custom furniture that would challenge the furniture buying routine. The common furniture buying process has you scouting Houzz and Pinterest for inspiration before turning to Wayfair and your favorite big box furniture store to find the perfect piece. The challenge is that you are limited to what the market has available and very rarely are you able to find the perfect piece that fits your style, your dimensions, and your desired color.
At Grain Designs we offer a fully custom furniture buying experience. We work with you to design the piece of furniture that you’ve been longing for. Each piece is thoughtfully designed and hand crafted from reclaimed wood with your specific needs in mind. Your style, your dimensions, and your desired color is no longer a sacrifice you need to make limited by what is immediately available.
Our Online Custom Order Form makes it easy to get the conversation started. You simply provide us with as much information as you can and we’ll continue the conversation with price quotes, designs, and current lead time.
We typically attend multiple street fairs, Junk Markets, and home shows around the region to showcase our products and visit with our clients throughout the year. We find this is a great way to spread the word about Grain Designs but it is also a great chance to test new designs and products to see what our customers enjoy.

Another great way to get hands on in the design process is to visit our south Fargo showroom. Unfortunately, we’re open by appointment only at this time but we encourage you to reach out and set up a meeting with us to discuss your project. We have current inventory and finished products on display as well as a design center set up to assist with the custom ordering process. Sliding doors, door hardware, mantels, wall paneling, and finish samples to name a few.
The easiest way to shop our custom furniture inventory is to visit our ONLINE SHOP. Here we showcase many of our popular metal and reclaimed wood wall decor products, canvas prints, and gift items but now we’re adding even more inventory that is constantly changing. This platform allows you to view our inventory and shop our most popular products, many of which can be picked up as early as the SAME DAY!
Our goal is to continue to test new designs and styles, build one off pieces, and continue changing our inventory in order to make our products more accessible. Be sure and check back often as the inventory can change and be updated daily.

Opened in 2022, Pines Black is the second barn-like wedding venue at The Pines Weddings & Events near Fargo, ND. Grain Designs contributed custom furniture and architectural details throughout, including 45 solid wood folding event tables, 16 modern sliding barn doors, and extensive ash wood finishes for walls, countertops, and bars.
